Ms. Nhek Soparama is currently the Director of the ASEAN Political-Security Community Department, General Department of ASEAN, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA.IC) of the Kingdom of Cambodia. She currently also serves as the Representative of Cambodia to the Advisory Board of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR).
Prior to that, she has been appointed as – among others – Deputy Director, ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners Department, General Department of ASEAN, MFA.IC (July 2018 – April 2020); Bureau Chief of ASEAN-Cambodia National Secretariat, Community and Cooperate Affairs Department, General Department of ASEAN (May 2017 – July 2018); and Attachment Officer, Directorate of ASEAN External Relations, ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta (May 2016 – May 2017). She has been working at MFA.IC since 2013.
She holds a Master’s Degree of Business Administration, majoring in International Business from the University of Wales Institution, Cardiff (UWIC), UK (2011). She also holds a Bachelor of International Relations from Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC) (2010); and Bachelor of Economic Science from the Royal University of Law and Economic (RULE), Cambodia (2009).
