General
The Youth-Tech Workshop and Training aimed to spread awareness on the importance of placing technological advancement in its advantageous nature, namely to promote peace and cultivate a culture of peace amongst the youth. This project was initiated by Indonesia and inspired by one of the outcomes of the “ASEAN Youth Declaration on Peace and Tolerance” in 2018.
Through the Training sessions, 26 nominated participants from ASEAN Member States had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the region’s youth, peace and technology issues and explore how they could utilise ICT as an instrument to promote peace narratives.
Output
This workshop issued a training module that can be used in future regional youth projects as a guideline to conduct creative projects in technology, particularly the use of ICT to create positive narratives of peace. At the end of the Training, the participants also designed peace narratives through different digital platforms and implement them in their respective communities.
