ASEAN-IPR Discussion Series (2020): "Women, Peace & Security and Covid-19 in ASEAN"

This was the pilot ASEAN-IPR Discussion Series convened on 6 August 2020. With the pandemic preventing in-person activities, the ASEAN-IPR launched what would become one of its signature activities – consisting of a series of webinars gathering stakeholders and like-minded institutions to talk about current trends on peace and conflict resolution in the region.

The pilot Discussion Series brought together more than 70 participants from ASEAN Member States (including the Governing Council, Advisory Board and AWPR Members), ASEAN’s partners, and other stakeholders; with a theme that sought to understand the challenges and impacts women face during the global pandemic. Throughout the sessions, the Speakers exchanged views on the different facets of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has been posing on women and explored the various ways and means to curve such impact more effectively.
