In 2018, ASEAN-IPR convened a Regional Youth Conference on Peace & Tolerance, which generated the “ASEAN Youth Declaration on Peace and Tolerance”. According to the Declaration, one of the ways in which youth may do to contribute in promoting peace and tolerance, is to create and promote narratives of peace, tolerance, and pluralism through variety of platform including art, as well as information and communication technology such as social media.
Pursuant to the call in the Declaration, the ASEAN-IPR organised a Peace Message Video Competition in 2021 as one of the platforms for youth to contribute in promoting peace and tolerance by creating videos narrating peace, and promoting them on ASEAN-IPR’s YouTube as well as other social media accounts.

Objective
The Programme aims to intensify the involvement of youth in activities relevant to the promotion of the culture of peace and moderation, pursuant to Action Line A.3.1.ii of the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Blueprint 2025.
