In 2022, the Discussion Series was brought back as part of the Institute’s 10th Anniversary commemorative activities. The first session of the ASEAN-IPR Discussion Series 2022 was convened on 27 April 2022, with the theme “Early Warning Capabilities: Effective Conflict Prevention”. Throughout the session, four experts from inside and outside the region highlighted different approaches to early warning capabilities based on their respective organisation’s experiences. Discussions noted that ASEAN has already been acting as an early warning system, considering that it has collected information, analysed, and responded effectively to conflicts within the region and emerging conflict risks.
