ASEAN-IPR Peace Exhibition

In Commemoration of ASEAN-IPR's 10th Anniversary, on the side-lines of the 40th & 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits

8-13 November 2022

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR), with the endorsement of Cambodia as ASEAN's Chair for 2022 and the generous support of the Government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) through the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) held a six-day exhibition aptly titled ASEAN-IPR Peace Exhibition. The Exhibition was held on the side-lines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia between 8-13 November 2022.

The Exhibition was convened to raise awareness as well as garner support from the Institute's stakeholders – namely diplomats and officials from ASEAN Member States, mainstream media and the general public – on the Institute's mandate, functions and work.

The Exhibition was set-up at the pre-function area of the Summits venue, open for all participants and/or guests/visitors of the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits. The Exhibition displayed a timeline of the Institute's progress and achievements thus far, as well as the Institute's "The Story So Far" Video Profile, and greetings/congratulatory message videos from the Institute's stakeholders and external partners on its 10th Anniversary. Throughout the course of the Exhibition, the ASEAN-IPR Secretariat Team engaged with visitors to introduce the work of the Institute and distributed its latest publications and/or merchandises. Amongst the publications disseminated during the Exhibition were the ASEAN-IPR Pamphlet, ASEAN-IPR Annual Report 2021, publications from ASEAN-IPR's research projects on Mindanao and Aceh, ASEAN-IPR Youth Conference on Peace & Tolerance, and the ASEAN Women Interfaith Dialogue. Portions of the Exhibition were also updated on ASEAN-IPR's Instagram account through stories as well as live streaming updates.

The ASEAN-IPR Peace Exhibition humbly welcomed many dignitaries such as the Foreign Ministers of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and the Philippines, Deputy Secretaries-General of ASEAN, United Nations Secretary General, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of UNESCAP Bangkok, SOM Leaders of ASEAN Member States, distinguished Members of the ASEAN-IPR Governing Council and Advisory Board, Members of the ASEAN Women for Peace Registry, Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, as well as members of delegation from ASEAN Dialogue Partners and medias. The Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Political and Security and the State Secretary of Indonesia, who accompanied President Joko Widodo at the Summits, also visited the Exhibition. In addition, the Exhibition also welcomed and engaged with officials and/or representatives from other ASEAN Entities (e.g., AIPA, ARMAC), as well as youth representatives – prior to their interface with the ASEAN Leaders.
